Their mission is focused on the engagement, education, and empowerment for women who are passionate about starting a business, sustaining a business, empowering communities, and creating legacies while eliminating poverty.
Habitat for Humanity
Their mission is to partner with families to build and rehab homes for those in need of a safe, decent and affordable place to live.
The Fledge
Non-profit community service provider for low income (ALICE) households, located in southeast Lansing.
Michigan Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence
A Michigan Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence. Astera is supporting funding of microloans and financial education (LifeCents) to be available to their survivors.
The Women’s Center of Greater Lansing
A private non-profit organization that provides support services to women in the Lansing area. These services include career counseling and resume preparation, individual counseling, and a wide variety of support groups and workshops.
Peckham
A nonprofit vocational rehabilitation organization, provides job training opportunities for persons with significant disabilities and other barriers to employment. Peckham provides people with physical, cognitive, behavioral and socio-economic challenges a platform to demonstrate their ability, learn new skills, participate in work and enjoy the rewards of their success.
Child and Family Charities
Their mission is to strengthen and support children, families, and individuals as they evolve and grow in a changing community. Child and Family Charities has many different programs for youth that are in foster care.
Lifeboat
Lifeboat’s mission is to provide community and peer support to all who see recovery from substance use disorder and their loved ones. They also aim to end the stigma surrounding addiction and create a more recovery-positive culture. They provide services such as drop-in recovery support, professional development and connections, and recovery support meetings.
Eastside Community Action Center
Eastside Community Action Center (ECAC) is a nonprofit organization that provides charitable and educational services to vulnerable children and adults in Lansing’s Eastside and surrounding area.
